Episode Description
In the final installment of A New Contract With America, Professor Nick Giordano lays out the last two pillars needed to restore America’s strength, prosperity, and legitimacy. Part Three focuses on achieving true energy independence, unlocking America’s rare earth mineral wealth to fuel economic revival, and restoring trust in elections through commonsense reforms that ensure transparency, accountability, and confidence in the system. These are not theoretical ideas or costly government programs. They are practical, achievable solutions that strengthen national security, lower the cost of living, and reconnect Americans to institutions they no longer trust. This episode ties all ten reforms together and explains how they work in concert to build a freer, stronger, more fiscally responsible America.

A New Contract With America Part 3: Energy Dominance, Election Integrity, and Restoring Trust
America does not suffer from a lack of ideas. It suffers from a lack of courage. In Part 3 of A New Contract with America, Professor Nick Giordano brings this series to its conclusion by tackling two of the most consequential issues facing the country today: energy independence paired with rare earth mineral development, and election integrity combined with term limits for Congress. These are not abstract policy debates. They directly affect the cost of living, national security, economic growth, and whether Americans can still trust the institutions meant to serve them.
Energy independence is not just about gas prices, although anyone who heats their home or drives to work understands how energy costs shape daily life. It is about whether the United States remains a dominant power in the twenty first century or becomes dependent on hostile nations. Lower energy costs ripple through the economy by reducing shipping, manufacturing, and food prices. At the same time, America is sitting on trillions of dollars in rare earth minerals that are essential for modern technology, defense systems, and advanced manufacturing. Yet China controls much of the global supply, while bureaucracy and regulatory paralysis prevent the United States from fully using its own resources.
The second issue is even more foundational. Without faith in elections, nothing else functions properly. Voter turnout in the United States remains low because too many Americans believe the system lacks transparency and accountability. Professor Giordano outlines a framework built on common sense reforms including cleaning voter rolls, voter identification, paper ballots, banning ballot harvesting, and eliminating private money from election administration. He also argues that Congress has become increasingly detached from the people it represents, with career politicians entrenched in a Washington bubble. Term limits are presented not as a cure all, but as a necessary step toward restoring trust and accountability.
What unites the entire New Contract with America is that these reforms do not require massive new spending or a larger federal bureaucracy. In fact, they reduce waste, strengthen national sovereignty, restore federalism, and reconnect government to the people. Professor Giordano emphasizes that these proposals follow SMART objectives: simple, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. The question is no longer whether solutions exist, but whether Americans are willing to demand action. Listeners are encouraged to share the episode, send it to members of Congress, and use the forthcoming one to two-page fact sheet to pressure both parties to act.
