Biden’s State of the Union Exposes His Agenda: America Last
The State of the Union address is an opportunity for a president to do what the name of the speech implies: inform the people of how the United States is faring. It should address issues that are critical to American citizens. What subject did President Biden kick off his State of the Union with? Well, Ukraine, of course! You see, it is essential that the American taxpayer protect Ukrainian borders, not ours.
We must throw more money Zelensky’s way. Well, at least our government recognizes the importance of borders, just not for its own citizens. This speech, which was confusing and difficult to watch, does what President Biden’s administration does best – prioritize others over the American people.
President Biden has already given $75 billion to Ukraine to aid them in their war. Does anyone remember when Congress and Democrats went ballistic over the $18 billion Trump requested for our country’s border wall? They were seething. How dare America try to have an orderly process for legal immigration, prevent drug and sex trafficking, and secure our southern border so we know exactly who is coming into the interior of our country. Fun fact – there is a bill right now that has passed the Senate with a cost of over $95 billion to the taxpayer, of which an additional $60 billion would fund Ukraine. Unbelievable!
Unlike the current administration, let’s examine what Americans wanted to hear about in this speech. What are the key issues they are concerned with today? According to Pew Research Center, 73% of Americans polled said strengthening the economy should be a top issue for this administration. Coming in a close second, 63% said protecting against terrorism. 58% of those polled want a reduction in crime to be top of mind for the President. There was nothing about Ukraine, a country more than 6,000 miles away from the United States. It is not that Americans do not want to help, but we must fix our home first, and the exorbitant money we have already given them does not seem to be helping. We are winning the war in Ukraine can no longer be claimed with a straight face. I’m reminded of when we were told over and over that if you get the shot, you will not get COVID. Of course, the media echoed both lies with no shame.
Our present state of the union is fractured. Inflation is soaring. The price of food, gas, homes, cars, and pretty much everything we need to live on a daily basis, is up. The president stood at the podium with a faraway look in his eyes and simply lied that inflation had been reduced. Well, yes and no. The truth, which the elites willfully ignore, is that from the time Trump left office, inflation is way up thanks to the feckless policies of the current administration. It may have dropped this year compared to last, but it is still at a net increase from when President Biden began his term. Why tell the truth? The fraudulent media has this administration’s back and will continue to perpetuate any lies they utter.
After, President Biden claimed that a senate bill had the “toughest set of border security reforms ever seen –” another falsehood. To me, this was the most uncomfortable part of the speech to watch. He began to look puzzled when referring to this bill saying, “I’d be a winner – not really.” What? He says this nonsensical phrase as he struggles to read the teleprompter. At this time, Marjorie Taylor Green, the representative serving the 14th district of Georgia reminds President Biden about Laken Riley, an innocent young woman who was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant. Even though her name was written on a pin he held in his hand, he struggled to say Laken Riley’s name correctly, and followed by asking, “But how many thousands of people are being killed by legals?” Is he referring to foreigners who have legal residence? Maybe, he’s talking about recently naturalized citizens? The likelihood is that he was probably trying to convey that American citizens born in this country are the real culprits, so pay no mind to what illegals do. To rub salt into the wound, President Biden later apologized for referring to Laken Riley’s murderer as ‘illegal,’ which is what he is as a factual matter. He expressed that he should have used the term ‘undocumented.’ How repugnant.
The president’s address began with the line, “Good evening. Good evening. If I were smart, I’d go home now.” Yes, Mr. President, many of us wish you could return to Delaware and allow someone with at least the slightest bit of competency to run the show. Reading through the transcript again, I was struck by how often the President simply lied. Although he shouted at points during the address, he looked confused, and his words were often muddled. I was sure the speech would be mocked as the embarrassment it truly was – woefully inaccurate and difficult to understand. But, no, the media and the pundits swung into high gear, showing no shame when claiming that the speech was a victory for the president. One supposed republican strategist said that Biden, “nailed it.” Really? Did she watch the same speech I did? Why, because he yelled, instead of speaking in the nearly inaudible voice he usually does?
We can only hope, for the sake of our Union that this will be the last State of the Union Biden delivers.
