During national elections, Republicans have generally surrendered states, like New York, to the Democratic party, not bothering to use up resources and campaign in these deep blue areas. This is understandable as there are more than double the percentage of registered Democrats compared to registered Republicans in New York. This dynamic, however, may finally change because President Trump is not your typical Republican candidate, and decades of bad policies may have taken their toll on the citizens of these regions.
There had been rumors swirling that Trump’s campaign was planning to have an event in the Bronx, a borough of New York City, but nothing had been formally set in stone. Well, last week it became official. Trump’s team obtained a permit to hold a rally in Crotona Park, a section in the South Bronx, on Thursday, May 23rd. He will speak about issues relevant to all American citizens, including the economy, soaring crime, and the impact illegal migration is having on the United States, particularly in areas like New York City.
As someone who lived in the Bronx for 27 years, I truly appreciate Trump’s attempt to capture the vote here. The stat I provided above paints a bleak picture for any candidate on the Republican ticket, but keep in mind that although Democrats outpace Republicans by a large margin in New York City, only a very small fraction of residents actually vote, leaving the fate of the candidate up to a select few. Why do only a small number of individuals vote in such a large city? Possibly because people in these areas have simply given up and regrettably accepted the notion that nothing will change. I saw this firsthand when I lived in the Bronx. Those who had the means left New York for states like Florida and the Carolinas, overburdened by punitive taxes and receiving little to nothing in return for their hard-earned dollars. But Trump has animated a variety of those who remain, who are fed up with being taken for granted and want to have a better quality of life.
This upcoming rally seems to have been primed by smaller appearances in New York as President Trump is battling an unjust court case. During the course of his current trial, he visited a bodega in Manhattan, where much to the mainstream media’s chagrin, he was met with cheers and people chanting, “Trump!” Why? The answer is simple – he was addressing a real concern of local business owners being robbed, assaulted, and ignored by elected officials. He also met with union workers in Manhattan who were thrilled to meet and speak with the former president. Of course, there was the recent New Jersey rally that drew a crowd of approximately 100,000 people, proving that maybe blue states are not a lost cause for Republicans, or at least not for an unconventional Republican like President Trump.
Trump is certainly proving once again to be a trailblazer. The Republicans have given up on these voters and the Democrats have taken them for granted. President Trump is offering these abandoned and forgotten people a new hope – he’s extending his hand out to them, addressing real concerns. It is, perhaps, mostly his unapologetic and bold manner that attracts voters like the ones he will speak to on Thursday, who are comprised of all colors, ethnicities, and walks of life.

This week will be a rave – a high-five to the American consumer for avoiding a play about women’s suffrage co-produced by an insufferable woman – Hillary Clinton. With a soaring inflation rate, Americans are forced to be selective about what they spend their money on, particularly luxuries, like entertainment, and the public has chosen to avoid another virtue-signaling show.
“Suffs,” a performance commemorating the significant woman’s suffrage movement hit Broadway last month. It is nearly 3 hours long and touted to have a cast comprised exclusively of women and non-binary performers. If that’s not a red flag, I don’t know what is. The reviews are mixed, but I found them to be very creative. Considering many of the critics want to be invited to fancy soirees, a jumble of positive words are tendered, but then you’ll see something like, “…its scenes often come off as educational skits.” Well, that doesn’t seem tempting with an average ticket costing $344. Who wants to sit through a lecture, especially at that price? Last week, “Suffs” ranked in the bottom 23% out of all 35 Broadway shows.
Hillary Clinton’s involvement in this play is predicated on her support for women’s rights, but the truth is, she doesn’t give a damn about women past or present. She is to women’s rights what Al Sharpton is to the plight of Black Americans in this country; that is to say, the antithesis of advancing the cause. Like Sharpton, Clinton is completely self-serving, and everything she does is to elevate her own status and wealth.
Hillary Clinton is the queen of hypocrisy. I could write a dissertation on this subject, including, how she criticizes Trump for categorizing payments to Stormy Daniels as legal fees – an issue he is currently fighting right now in a New York City court. Not many people are aware of this, but her campaign was forced to pay over $100,000 in fines for doing the same thing Trump is currently being accused of. Also, she incessantly claimed that Trump was threatening democracy when he questioned the 2020 election, meanwhile, she repeatedly accused Trump of being an “illegitimate president,” denying the results of the 2016 election.
Let’s take a quick look at Mrs. Clinton’s hypocrisy on women’s issues given the subject of this article. During the peak of the Me-Too movement, Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh was accused of sexual assault by an unstable and unreliable woman, Christine Blasey Ford. However, contradicting and far-fetched Ford’s claim was, Clinton’s vocal support was unwavering. If only she had held that stance when several women accused her husband of the same thing. Not only did she not believe them, but she also viciously attacked them in public and private in a concerted effort to destroy them.
Hillary Clinton befriended and accepted large donations from Harvey Weinstein, but then distanced herself from him when he was finally held accountable and sent to jail for sexual misconduct spanning decades. Clinton is cunning and certainly not stupid. She knew exactly what was going on – it was the worst kept secret in Hollywood, yet she maintained their relationship for years.
Hillary Clinton is not someone who stands firm in principled beliefs, She has proven this time and time again. Her involvement with this play is merely to stay relevant. So, please Mrs. Clinton, keep your nose out of an important topic – women’s suffrage. America would be much better off if you faded into the shadows.

The news cycle has been filled with stories about the Palestinian protests on college campuses for the past couple of weeks and rightfully so. The matter is much bigger than just one grievance or one group. There’s so much to unpack and discussion on this issue can be approached from many different angles. For this week, I’d like to view it from the perspective of why so many American students are blindly supporting a group they know so little about.
As always, it is difficult to receive an honest assessment of the political state of affairs in our country because the media is so blatantly biased. On nearly every issue, the mainstream media aligns with the side that opposes America. This has been occurring for decades, but the fervor for which they support anything anti-American has greatly accelerated in the last few years under the Biden administration. Therefore, it is incumbent upon sane adults to protect and educate our children with truth.
It’s not just a biased media that’s the problem – it’s also the fact that the news has become so fragmented with people, particularly young adults, receiving it from a variety of unreliable sources, like Facebook and Instagram. The dissolution of the nuclear family only adds to the problem. There are single mothers working several jobs to support their children, parents who are together but are both in the workforce, or children who are raised by relatives where the primary focus may not be on the child.
Whatever the reason, many children have not been instilled with proper values, nor have they had honest conversations about what’s occurring in the world today. This has led to a severe deficit in principles that guide a young person through both good and tumultuous times. Instead of having a moral compass, they latch onto whatever feels good or whatever makes them feel accepted. Want some proof? Watch this video and try not to cringe. The student in the video, who is currently attending an Ivy League University admits that she doesn’t know exactly why she’s protesting and looks to another student for an answer who also doesn’t have a clue.
Unfortunately, many of the students standing side by side with pro-Palestinian protesters are unaware of what they are chanting for. They are unwittingly supporting the obliteration of an allied nation – Israel. More importantly, however, they are supporting anti-Americanism as they stand by as our flag is burned and, in some instances, protesters scream, “Death to America.” The most ironic thing I’ve seen are the ‘Queers for Palestine’ signs, that demonstrate the ignorance of many of these students. In that country, you’re persecuted or killed for your sexual preferences. That is the truth. That is what our students need to be educated on.
Whether you are a parent, guardian, relative, or friend to a child or young adult, you should speak up. It is critical to teach them the founding principles of this great nation, as they are obviously not doing this in most schools across the board, and we must give them the courage to defend the ideals that give freedoms not found in any other country on this planet. They must be equipped with moral decency to withstand the inculcation of hatred that is constantly being shoved down their throats.
Being a parent is difficult today. We live in a fast-paced, complex society that cherishes instant gratification. We must start from when they are young, and we must be present, and I mean really present for them. There’s nothing more important than our children; they are our descendants, the continuation of humanity, so we need to reassess our priorities and focus on them.
The best we can do is to be honest with them and love them but loving them does not mean buying them a gaming system or letting them do whatever they want without consequences because we want to be their friend rather than their parent. Loving them means discipline and always being honest with them, even when the truth hurts. We are all fallible and will make many mistakes as parents and that’s okay, but if we give them the most valuable thing we have – our time, attention, and the truth – then we form a protective barrier that shields them from the barrage of lies and deceit that constantly get thrown their way.
