Will the Democratic Party Do Any Soul Searching?

It has been fascinating to witness the realignment of the Democratic and Republican parties over the last decade, particularly during the Biden/Harris years. The Republicans, once known as the party of the rich and elite, have become the party of the working class, opening its arms to a diverse range of people including different ethnicities, religions, and races. On the other hand, the Democratic party has emerged as the party of the wealthy and college-educated class. The people spoke loudly on November 5^th, with the popular vote going to Donald Trump, leaving Democrats wondering what went wrong. The answer is a lot, which begs the question – will the party do any soul-searching as a result of Trump’s unequivocal victory and try to earn the vote of the working class for future elections? Americans Give Trump a Resounding Victory – Now the Swamp Must Allow Him to Govern

Today is a historic day. Donald Trump is the first president to win two non-consecutive presidential terms since President Grover Cleveland in 1892. He also is the first Republican candidate to win the popular vote since President Bush 20 years ago. This resounding victory presents a strong mandate to Washington D.C. – we want change!  We want a president who will give us lower prices and lower inflation. We want a president who will tap into our own natural resources, so we don’t have to depend on foreign tyrants for oil and gas. We want a president who will enforce our border with an immigration policy that does not allow millions of unknown foreigners and drugs to pour into our nation. We want a president who works for the benefit of the people, not for their own power or wealthy elites. Most importantly, we want a president who puts Americans first. Trump Derangement Syndrome Escalates As Election Day Draws Near

With election day less than a week away, people’s emotions are running high. Trump is outperforming all the polls compared to previous election cycles; however, given that anything can happen, and the Democrats are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to prevent a Trump victory, it would be foolish to assume that he’s got it wrapped up.

The best way to gauge how the presidential candidates are faring is to watch the RealClearPolitics poll, which utilizes the average of numerous polls to take into account potential biases or issues of any one individual poll. As of October 26^th, Trump is leading nationally by 0.1 points. Now, we keep hearing about how the polls in this election have a razor-thin margin but let me put this into perspective for you. At this point during the last two election cycles, Trump was losing nationally to Biden by 7.4 points and was losing to Clinton by 5.6 points. Keep in mind that he tends to generally underperform in the polls compared to actual election numbers. So, it is possible that President Trump could win the popular vote. Kamala Ditches Al Smith Dinner – Another Unforced Error

The Alfred E. Smith Dinner is an annual event that raises money for organizations involved in assisting New York’s neediest children. The Catholic charity dinner has taken place since 1946 and since 1960, has featured the presidential nominees from both parties every election year. It is a time when opposing campaigns can come together to take good-natured jabs at each other in an open setting. This election cycle, VP Harris opted not to attend – another huge mistake and loss for the flailing campaign.

During the dinner, prominent individuals look forward to the highlight of the night – hearing the parties’ nominees roast each other. It provides an opportunity of levity for candidates during a campaign season. We all remember the contentious 2016 campaign between President Trump and Hilary Clinton. At that dinner, President Trump made a joke about pardoning Hilary Clinton. It was quite funny and even elicited a hearty laugh from Secretary Clinton. For those of us who found Clinton to be phony or unlikeable, that moment humanized her. Americans Last? Hurricane Helene Victims Suffer While U.S. Gives Foreigners Billions

Nearly two weeks ago, Hurricane Helene slammed the Western Coast of Florida and swept through several states, including Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Initially classified as a category 4, the hurricane was labeled a tropical storm, as it persisted into the northern bound states. Hurricanes are based on a 1 to 5 rating scale with 5 being the worst; however, this scale only accounts for the storm’s wind speed. Much of the carnage and damage from hurricanes results from flooding either from a storm surge, incessant rain, or both.

The widespread devastation of Helene – obliterating multiple communities and leaving death and ruin in its path has largely resulted from flooding. With the death toll rising above 230, Helene has become the deadliest hurricane to hit the U.S. since Hurricane Katrina nearly 20 years ago. The videos, images, and stories of fatalities and destruction are utterly heart-wrenching. There are hundreds of individuals still missing, hundreds of thousands of citizens without power, and with network outages pervasive in the region, lack of communication capabilities is making rescue and relief efforts far more difficult. Kamala Harris and Her Relationship with the Press – A Disservice to the American Voter

It’s no secret that our current Vice President dodges questions and hides from the press as much as possible. One might wonder why someone seeking the highest office in the land refuses to showcase their ideas, talent, and linguistic prowess to media outlets and to the American electorate. The answer is simple – Kamala Harris has no ideas or talent, and her linguistic skills are on par with a confused third grader. The press, instead of questioning her or pressing her on issues, acts as an arm of her campaign. If you don’t believe this, look no further than her first post-debate interview with a local anchor or her star-studded campaign event with Oprah.

After the debate several weeks ago, VP Harris was lauded for her performance. Although she offered no substantive answers and was facilitated by the two biased moderators, many in the media said she definitively won that debate. On the heels of this supposed victory, Harris went on to do an interview with a local Philadelphia anchor, Brian Taff. When asked about specific policy prescriptions for making life more affordable for the American people, the heavily scripted VP responded with a word salad describing her upbringing and how her neighbors were proud of their lawns. Her response was rendered with awkward hand gestures and a nervous, shaky voice. She also subjected us to the same mishmash of words we heard during the debate, “ambitions, aspirations and dreams,” when describing the American people. This, Madam Vice President, is not an answer for those in our country who are suffering under the irresponsible policies of your administration.

Then came the Oprah Winfrey interview – a friendly affair that should have boosted Kamala Harris’ standing in this race. Instead, it highlighted how inept our current vice president is. There were moments when even Oprah, a seasoned interviewer, seemed uncomfortable with the ineptitude of Kamala. When asked by a young couple what her plan would be to lower the cost of living, the vice president answered with an absurd non-response. Take a moment to view what Harris had to say, and you will hear the recycled “aspirations, dreams and ambitions” response we saw in the previously mentioned interview and in the debate. There was no substance to the most pressing question Americans have.

One might feel dumber for having watched this campaign event and learning nothing of the candidate, other than wondering if she is a programmed robot. I think the only positive that came from this is that her ignorance and incompetence were on full display. Oprah has an enormous audience, and those who have been shielded from this candidate were fully confronted with the truth about who Kamala Harris is and what she is capable of, or rather incapable of.

Also, too often, people forget that she is second in command right now. Many of the current issues requiring a solution are problems created or exacerbated by the administration she is presently occupying. If she had any resolutions, why not implement them right now? Last week, after nearly one year, President Biden (remember him?) held a cabinet meeting. This would have been the perfect chance for any candidate running for president to showcase their ability to lead the nation. Not only did VP Harris miss this opportunity, but the current vice president wasn’t even present at the meeting! Instead, after several garbled words, Biden handed the reigns over to his wife, First Lady Jill Biden. Who is running our country?

Folks, this is what happens when an individual goes untested for the majority of their career. It is unfathomable as to why so many in the press continue to allow Kamala to spew strings of words that never produce a coherent idea without any follow-ups or pushbacks. Say what you will about President Trump, but the man will talk to anyone anywhere at any time. And if you’re still on the fence about who to vote for – ponder this – Do you really want Kamala Harris in a room alone with Xi Jinping or Vladimir Putin? Do you truly believe Kamala Harris can turn this economy around? Do you think this woman is capable of accomplishing anything meaningful? For so long, Americans have been rightly taught to see past an individual’s skin color, gender, and ethnicity. I certainly hope that people remember this philosophy in the voting booth on November 5^th.

NFL QB Mahomes Sets an Example for Celebrities on Politics

There are a plethora of rants I could focus on this week, including Kamala Harris’ disastrous post-debate interview and the second assassination attempt on President Donald Trump. However, since many of my recent articles have been rants, I really wanted to offer the readers a rave, and the Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback offered me this opportunity with his statement last week on the upcoming election. With the abundance of negative reporting, stories like these need to be highlighted.

During a press conference last Wednesday, a reporter asked Mahomes about the contentious presidential campaign season, seeking for the famous Quarterback to either endorse or denounce one of the candidates. His astute response was reminiscent of Michael Jordan’s, ‘Republicans buy sneakers too’ comment rendered decades prior. Mahomes said that he didn’t want his “platform to be used to endorse a candidate.” He urged the public to “get registered to vote” and “to do their own research.” How refreshing – A celebrity advising people to think for themselves in a world where we are incessantly and forcefully told what to think and how to think, particularly by those in the upper economic echelon.

This comes on the heels of his wife simply liking a few posts on social media last month, one that included the phrase, “Trump-Vance 2024.” This provoked a fury of harsh criticism for Brittany Mahomes – many of whom were Taylor Swift fans, prompting Brittany to respond during a podcast with the now infamous, “I don’t give a f— about what people have to say about me anymore” statement.

Swift is no stranger to political involvement. She outwardly supported Biden in 2020 and right after the debate between Trump and Harris, she announced an endorsement of the VP with a lengthy post on Instagram. Critics of the pop star’s stance say that the post was probably written by a team prior to the debate since it was given just minutes after the debate ended. Pundits argue whether Swift’s endorsement will sway voters’ minds. There’s no way to know how much this will influence the electorate, but young people are, indeed, influenced by celebrities in a myriad of ways, including who to vote for.

It’s very difficult to take advice from celebrities, who because of their high positions and exorbitant salaries, are not forced to suffer the consequences of reckless and irresponsible policies proposed by either party. That is why I applaud Mahomes’ response during his press conference. In his statement, he went on to urge voters to “make the best decision for them and their family.” Yes, Mr. Mahomes, you are 100% correct. The cost and burden of unfettered illegal immigration and terrible economic policies do not affect Taylor Swift as she flies around in her private jet surrounded by people catering to her every need. It does, however, strongly affect the average American family, who are struggling to pay their bills and provide for their children.

Many celebrities are so far removed from the plight of the average American citizen, so I find it insulting when they direct those they influence, including our youth, to support a particular candidate for office. In fact, in this country, America’s youth and even many adults have chosen to idolize and worship celebrities, when we should be giving reverence to those who truly matter – military men and women, police officers, firefighters, teachers, sanitation workers, truck drivers, and many others who contribute to the existence of a functioning society. You can certainly admire the hard work and dedication a sports figure like Patrick Mahomes exemplifies, but we, as a society, need to understand the roles of people who directly impact our lives. I think Patrick Mahomes understands this, and I applaud his meaningful response.

ABC Presidential Debate was a Disservice to the American Voter

The ABC presidential debate provided no benefit to the American people – it was 90 minutes of bias, lies, and rambling. Last night, David Muir and Linsey Davis seemed as if they were interviewing for a position in the DNC, rather than practicing any semblance of journalism. Kamala Harris waved her hands around throughout the night spewing outright lies with no intercession from the supposed journalists moderating. When speaking on a particular issue, President Trump often went off on tangents, unable to adhere to the topic being discussed.

The primary issue for the American voter today is the economy. When asked if Americans are better off economically today than they were four years ago, the VP offered no specific policies, gave tired platitudes, and talked about how she was raised in the middle class. When it was Trump’s turn, he mentioned how under his presidency, our country enjoyed a healthy economy with low inflation, but then quickly pivoted to immigration. Now, it is critical to point out that the unprecedented flow of illegal immigrants pouring over our Southern Border has a profoundly negative impact on our economy; however, Trump didn’t make that connection for the viewer. He could have mentioned the billions of dollars taxpayers are currently funding to provide housing, food, medical care, and education to those coming into the United States unimpeded, while our own citizens, including veterans, are suffering.
