Welcome to The P.A.S. Report Podcast
It is done. Former US President Trump has been indicted and officially charged, and I want to take some time to talk about how this profoundly affects Americans and our country going forward.
In today’s episode, I’m going to focus on what is currently going on in the United States because the indictment and arrest of a former US President for political purposes is a perversion of justice that has far-reaching ramifications. But I want to make one thing clear: this goes far beyond Trump. It’s not about whether you love him or hate him. It’s about you, me, and every single American, regardless of your political beliefs.
The Trump indictment is not a legal matter; it has implications for our Republic and the rule of law. It’s a moment for us to reflect on what it means to be an American and the values we hold dear, or at least, what we used to hold dear.
If a clear crime is committed, then prosecute it but that’s not what it’s about and you don’t have to look far to see that. The southern district investigated this, the FEC investigated this, & Cyrus Vance, the previous NYC DA, investigated this. All declined to bring charges. Spare me the talking points that this is about a crime. This is about an individual being targeted for a crime after the dozens of other investigations didn’t lead to a prosecution. You cannot target individuals in search of a crime.
This is a mockery of our Justice system. To make it an even bigger mockery, you had the former Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, tweet out that Donald Trump will have the opportunity to prove his innocence in court. Again, that’s not how the system works. It’s incumbent on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
I want to have a brutally honest conversation about what the Trump indictment really means for us as a society. It’s not going to be pretty, and I am not going to sugarcoat it. We need to talk about what’s to come because the future of our nation looks bleak right now.
No matter how much you despise the former President, this is wrong on so many levels and it has lasting consequences. Consequences that we may not be able to come back from. Unfortunately, when all is said and done, the real losers in this whole thing are the American people.
This is much bigger than most are imagining, and there is a lot at stake. And for all the Democrats that may be tuning in, you are going to want to listen up because while you may be celebrating this today, in time, it will be a road you wished we never traveled down.
