Alright, everyone. What a busy week. Kicked off Monday with an interview with Dinesh D’Souza on his upcoming film Police State and how the United States is slipping further and further towards authoritarianism. Yesterday, I released an episode providing my thoughts on the deadly Hamas attacks on Israel and Israel’s declaration of war. I explained that this war is much bigger than people realize and there are major geopolitical implications that too many are ignoring. There are so many levels to it, and it goes far beyond the normal Israeli-Palestinian conflict that we’ve grown accustomed to over the last few decades. You are going to want to check out that episode because the stakes could not be higher. This war can quickly escalate and expand beyond its borders engulfing the Middle East and drawing the United States in so if you haven’t already listened, make sure to check it out.
Today, I want to focus on the domestic side of things. As of this recording, we still don’t have a Speaker of the House. Is this a big deal? Does this show that Republicans are divided and incompetent? Unable to govern? Or is this much ado about nothing? There are two levels to this and I’ll explain that later on.
But first, I want to focus on a more important story. A story that should frighten every American regardless of political ideology. Over the last two decades, we have witnessed the federal bureaucracy being infected by ideology and politically weaponized. I’ve been screaming about this and warned about the ideological corruption and abuses of power on numerous occasions. It’s one of the main reasons I started this podcast.
I warned how the threat of domestic terrorism was being used as a pretext for something much bigger. I warned how they used it to usurp power and target anyone who dissented from a particular narrative. I warned about how the Biden administration’s National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism lowered the threshold of what would constitute domestic terrorism and extremism.
Something that has always had me concerned about this document was that it’s essentially a political document disguised as a strategy. I worked on numerous government documents before, so understand, I know how the game is played. Those who craft these types of documents are wordsmiths. Every word, every phrase, and every sentence has an intent behind it. What’s written in and what’s left out is done on purpose, and before documents are released to the public, it goes through a few dozen hands.
Officials want to redefine what domestic terrorism is. They want to redefine who can be considered a domestic terrorist. They want to lower the threshold to kick off investigations. Just think of how the standard has been lowered. Prior to 2021, a potential Domestic Violent Extremist or DVE was someone who engaged in anti-government/anti-authority violent extremism. However, the National Strategy lowered this threshold. They dropped the word violent and replaced the word extremism with sentiment. So now anyone who exhibits any anti-government/anti-authority sentiment can be considered a potential domestic violent extremist. This had far-reaching consequences, and we are beginning to see the consequences in real-time. There was an exclusive story in Newsweek and we have to ask- is the FBI Threat Tagging MAGA.
