Episode Description
In this episode of The P.A.S. Report Podcast, Professor Nick Giordano explores a disturbing trend: the systematic replacement of faith and religion with government authority. Drawing on the wisdom of the founding fathers, he argues that our rights are not granted by the government, but inherent to our humanity and endowed by our Creator. He explains the profound impact of Judeo-Christian philosophies on America’s founding principles and warns of the dangers posed by ideological zealots that seek to erode these foundational beliefs. Religion is often the first thing targeted in communist societies because there can be no higher authority than the all-powerful state. He paints a compelling picture of the vital role faith plays in preserving liberty and individual purpose. Don’t miss this thought-provoking episode that challenges us to reconsider the true source of our liberties and the consequences of their erosion.

Today, we’re diving into a topic that strikes at the very core of our nation’s identity: the battle between faith and government. For centuries, Americans have cherished the idea that our liberties are God-given, not granted by government. But in recent years, this foundational belief has come under attack from those who seek to replace faith with the all-encompassing authority of the state.
I have a diverse audience, with people from varying religious beliefs to atheists who listen to this program, and this is a really important episode, regardless of your belief system. Faith is an important component to our way of life. It is important for the nourishment of the soul. No matter what your individual beliefs are, even if you are an atheist, when you remove faith from a society, it creates a void, and the thing that fills the void is government.
In previous episodes, I have warned about how faith has come under attack. There is an open hostility to religion, and there is a reason why they have this hostility. It’s about power. See, these people want you to believe that the government is the one that grants us our liberties, but our rights are endowed by our creator.
I want you to take a listen to this sound clip. This was a Politico Pundit on MSNBC. Take a listen to what she has to say.
Sound Clip Christian Nationalists
That clip highlights the growing hostility we see towards Christianity and the belief in God-given rights, but this isn’t just about Christianity; it’s about the broader assault we are witnessing in our society as a systematic effort exists to replace faith and religion with government authority.
But as faith wanes, so too does our understanding of the principles that underpin our liberties. And that is the real target. It isn’t necessarily about faith and religion, it is the freedoms we enjoy that they despise. They don’t like dissent. They don’t like anyone who challenges their points of view. It’s why they outwardly mock anyone who doesn’t think like them. Take a listen to this clip of Don Lemon and Company when they talk about people who don’t bow to the alter of government.
Sound Clip Don Lemon
That clip captures the condescension and arrogance of the elitists who seek to impose their worldview on the rest of society. To them, anyone who dares to question their authority or challenge their orthodoxy is worthy of ridicule and scorn.
But let’s take a step back and consider the intent of our founding fathers. From the very beginning, they understood that our liberties are not granted by government but are inherent to our humanity. They recognized that there is a higher authority than the state, one that transcends the whims of politicians and bureaucrats.
Our founding fathers drew inspiration from Judeo-Christian philosophies, which emphasize the dignity and worth of every individual. While they may not have always lived up to that, nor have any of us when we think about it, they believed that our rights come from our Creator and cannot be taken away by any earthly power. That’s why they enshrined the principles of religious freedom and individual liberty in our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States, ensuring that every American has the right to worship according to their conscience and live their lives free from government interference.
But today, we find ourselves at a crossroads. As faith and religion are increasingly marginalized in our society, we are witnessing a surge in mental health crises and a growing sense of nihilism within our society. As the pews grow more desolate, the moral compass that once guided our nation begins to falter.
This isn’t just about preserving tradition or upholding religious values; it’s about safeguarding the very foundation of our republic. History has shown us time and time again that when faith is replaced with the all-powerful state, tyranny, and oppression are guaranteed to follow. Just look at the targeting of religion in communist regimes, where the first casualty is always religion.
Why? Because if God exists, the state is not the ultimate authority. By eliminating religion, they aim to consolidate power by replacing God with an all-powerful state.
As Americans, we must resist this encroachment on our faith and stand firm in defense of our God-given rights. We cannot allow the elitists and ideologues to dictate the terms of our beliefs or undermine the principles that have made America the greatest nation on Earth. Following a quick break, I will explain the profound implications of the battle between faith and government. So, hang tight. I will be right back after this break. state.
