Episode Description
Peter Magistrale comes to The P.A.S. Report to discuss the lack of civic engagement and how Americans are not taking their responsibilities seriously. As citizens, we have a certain obligation to understand our political system and the important role we play within the system. However, what does it say about We the People when we reelect the same failed politician for 30, 40, even 50-years? What does it say when we allow governors to rule by decree with little to no pushback from the legislative branches? What does it say when we constantly shift blame rather than take personal responsibility or we ask government to solve all of our problems as opposed to self-reliance?

Intro
Welcome everyone to another episode of The PAS Report Podcast.
Happy Labor Day. I hope you are enjoying the long Labor Day weekend.
I have a great guest coming on today. We are constantly blaming the politicians for much of the problems throughout the United States, but at what point do we, as people, have to take some responsibility. Remember, we elect many of these rejects into office, and many of them have been there for 20, 30, 40, even 50-years. Many of them have had little to no accomplishments throughout their career in public service, yet they will be reelected.
That’s why I’m bringing on Peter Magistrale. Peter is the author of the book, We the People are the Problem. Peter is someone who believes the American people bare much of the responsibility for the current political environment and our state of politics. Given everything that’s going on, and watching people destroy our cities with impunity, while feckless elected officials simply watch as bystanders, and in some cases, actually encourage this behavior, I think Peter is onto something.
Before I bring in Peter, make sure to tune into Wednesday show because I am fired up this week. I am sick and tired of the political double standards. I am tired of the media and the politicians looking down on We the People as the peasant class. I am tired of the hypocrisy and so I am going scorch these losers. I am also going to totally debunk the Atlantic’s story and show you what the real agenda is.
But I want to bring Peter on now so be sure to The P.A.S. Report website and sign up for the newsletter.
Closing
I enjoyed the discussion with Peter and I think the topic is extremely important. In our system, We the people have a responsibility and obligation. I think we’ve lost sight of that over the last several decades. Our founding fathers didn’t include any compulsory civic responsibilities, but they did expect us to become an informed citizenry that holds the government and our officials accountable. They also didn’t want us to burden government with every little problem that may exist. At some point, we need to recognize that we have an obligation to fix our communities and to solve problems ourselves rather than rely on government for every little thing.
In any event, I was glad Peter can come on, and remember you can go to The P.A.S. Report, and find a link to Peter’s book, We the People are the Problem, in the show notes.
