There is little doubt that we are living through very difficult times here in America, and as America and Americans struggle to find our identity, we continue to see growing instability here at home.
But the question is why? Why is America declining, and how did it happen so quickly? Just think back to the 90s, and did anyone think we would be in the position we are in today? I remember the 90s. Sure, things weren’t perfect, and we had our issues, but it was different. America displayed our military might with our decisive victory in Desert Storm. The Soviet Union officially collapsed. The economy was doing relatively well. Spending was coming under control. And while we had our differences, we coexisted well together. And we still coexist well together for the most part. Don’t always believe the media hype.
But it was different then. There was a calmness. There was international stability. There wasn’t this dreaded sense of impending doom or defeat. People were generally happy, less anxious, less miserable, but even more important, we knew who we were. Most Americans were proud to be American and believed patriotism was important.
But the situation has radically changed. All the things that once united Americans, are now the very things that divide us.
Why have so many forsaken the American identity, the Constitution, and the bedrock principles that once defined our exceptionalism? Does this abandonment truly strengthen America and improve our lives?
Some do, but reality paints a much different picture, as our lives grow increasingly challenging. And those who do believe that our nation is better off by turning our backs on the things that once united and defined us will be in for a rude awakening when things come crashing down.
We are at a crossroads, but we need to recognize how we got here, where we are, and where we are headed.
The answer for how we got here is relatively straightforward. All you have to do is witness the growth of the government and ask yourself- as the government and governmental power expanded, did life become easier or has it become more difficult?
As the federal government has become more entrenched in all aspects of our lives, what problems have they solved? Take any issue. Can you genuinely attribute its resolution to the intervention of the federal government?
This episode will delve into this phenomenon, but ultimately, the pivotal question is whether a new form of conservatism can emerge and garner enough popular support to counter the leftward turn. A new conservative brand that safeguards the American identity and our God-given liberties, upholds the Constitution and honors the fundamental principles that underpin our exceptionalism. If we want to see America survive, we better hope so.
