Trump Has Historic Win
The 2024 election is now in the books, and it was a resounding victory for President Trump. I don’t think many people fully grasp the gravity of what just happened.
Not only did President Trump decisively win the Electoral College, but he also became the first Republican in nearly 45 years to secure a majority of the popular vote. While George W. Bush won the popular vote in 2004, he didn’t win a true majority. The last Republican to do that was George H.W. Bush back in 1988. So, make no mistake—this isn’t just a win; it’s a historic mandate. And it’s even more remarkable given the relentless opposition he faced.
Think about this: Trump managed to sweep the swing states and win the popular vote despite an unprecedented $2 billion in opposition spending. Despite an advocacy press corps that essentially functioned as an arm of Kamala Harris’s campaign, she received close to 90% positive media coverage while Trump faced 90% negative. He succeeded in spite of Hollywood’s star power, an entire industry pushing to influence how people should vote. He won despite enduring constant comparisons to Hitler and accusations of fascism and despite outright lies like the “very fine people” hoax and the supposed “bloodbath” hoax.
On top of that, he prevailed despite enduring four years of lawfare from a weaponized government and a relentless bureaucratic assault. He stood firm in the face of fraudulent national security experts who repeatedly interfered in the last three election cycles.
Despite all of this, Trump pulled it off. It’s truly remarkable and the victory is full of ironies.
One irony is that, if it weren’t for the lawfare campaign, Trump might not have even been the Republican nominee. Another is how some in the media and Democratic circles are now blaming President Biden for waiting too long to exit the race. Yet it was those same media figures and Democrat elites who conspired to hide his obvious cognitive decline for years.
Then, there’s the irony of how Trump, labeled as a racist who supposedly hates minorities, won the popular vote precisely because of his increased support among Black and Hispanic voters. After years of being painted as the “grand wizard” of hate, Trump secured the largest share of the Black vote for a Republican since Nixon in 1972 and the largest Hispanic support since George W. Bush. He even made double-digit gains among Jewish voters, despite relentless accusations that he was the second coming of Hitler.
So, with this overwhelming victory, you might expect Democrats, the media, the never-Trumpers, and others to finally engage in some self-reflection. But that’s a foreign concept to them. Instead, they’re blaming, of all things… democracy.
They’re saying Black men hate Black women and are driven by racism and misogyny. They’re accusing women of internalized misogyny. They’re blaming “toxic masculinity” and suggesting that only the “unenlightened” masses backed Trump, while the enlightened PhDs and academia supported Harris.
But here’s the irony: this is exactly why they lost. Americans are fed up with being insulted, demeaned, and constantly put down. In her concession speech, Kamala Harris even implied that Americans were simply too ignorant to understand how well the Harris-Biden economy was supposedly working for them. As if Americans’ struggles with skyrocketing grocery bills and household finances are all just figments of their imagination.
We’re going to take a quick break now, but when we get back, I’ll dig deeper into what this victory means, the implications for the future, and much more. So stay tuned and we’ll be right back.
