I can’t believe it’s Christmas week. This year went by so fast and we covered a lot here at The P.A.S. Report. While I focus a lot on politics, it’s because it has such a profound effect on our lives. When we look at our society, our culture, and our country, there is little doubt that a lot has changed in a relatively short period.
Issues are being debated that I could never have imagined we would be debating. Things that would have seemed like satire 20, 30, or 40 years ago have become reality.
But I do believe that one of the major trends that doesn’t get enough attention is how it seems that so many people have lost their sense of purpose. How, as a country, America has lost her sense of purpose.
I’m not going to sugarcoat it. It’s a sad state of affairs right now, and it is the result of destructive policies, failed politicians, toxic messaging, a failed education system, materialism, and complacency. When I say complacency, I’m talking about the idea that so many believe that we can’t lose our liberties, even though most cannot even define liberty. So many believe that America can’t slide into authoritarianism.
To people that believe that I say wake up because we are quickly approaching a point of no return. Our society and culture have become so warped that our priorities are backward. See, we were constantly told that stuff equals success, and that brings us happiness.
Yet today, we have more stuff than every previous generation. I’m not diminishing anyone’s issues and problems they may be facing. I am simply talking about the stuff we have. Someone on the lower socioeconomic scale today has more stuff than someone of the upper middle class from 50-60 years ago.
But it turns out that all of that stuff didn’t translate into happiness, now did it. Instead, there are too many Americans who seem to have lost any sense of purpose. It seems so many have given up.
Many have become devoid and detached from society. It seems that so many just don’t care. Critical thinking and common sense no longer exist, and many just regurgitate what they hear without ever even questioning it.
They lack any sense of self-awareness, and we are witnessing the impact. Merit and hard work have been devalued to such an extent that we now have a whole generation of whiny, spoiled brats who believe they are entitled to everything and contribute nothing.
That’s what I want to focus on in this episode. We used to be strong. We used to have grit. We used to believe in rugged individualism, but those traits seem like a distant memory. We used to use our brains, and I am not talking about formal education. I know people that dropped out of school in the 6th grade, but they were still smart. They could figure things out. They were curious, and they understood basic common sense. It didn’t matter what their formal education was.
But with the challenges we face, it’s important to recognize that moments of introspection and awakening can pave the way for a positive change. While acknowledging the current state of affairs, it’s essential to tap into the resilient spirit that has defined America throughout our history. We faced challenging times before, and we were able to overcome them. We can do the same now.
By rekindling a sense of purpose, we have the power to reshape our society for the better. In this episode, we’ll explore not only the challenges we face but also the opportunities for renewal and rediscovery of who we are. Get back to the principles of self-reliance that has always been at the heart of the American experience.
I will explain it all when we get back from this quick break so everyone, hang tight.
