Intro
Welcome everyone to another episode of The PAS Report Podcast.
As we begin to thaw out from the cold and the snow from the last few days, at least if you’re on the East Coast, I’m going to explore a topic that’s of extreme importance. I warned three week’s ago about the rhetoric being used, and if the pundits, the propaganda press, and the politicians themselves, don’t knock it off, we are heading down a dark and dangerous path.
Unfortunately, it appears my warning is falling on deaf ears because we continue to hear a parade of terms like domestic enemies and the threat they pose to the United States.
In fact, the Department of Homeland Security used the federal alert system to warn of the domestic terrorist threat from these groups.
I’m going to go deep into this topic because I have some major concerns about what I’m seeing and hearing. Even worse, some are ready to grant the government extraordinary powers to target these domestic enemies. They want to bring the same capabilities we use against foreign terror organizations and use the same tools to target the domestic enemies.
I have a lot of questions that need answering, and sadly the propaganda press serves as the useful idiots failing to ask the tough questions, we need answers to. They simply regurgitate the talking points by the ruling class and don’t express any curiosity whatsoever.
Some of the major questions are how concerned should we be? Does this all stem from the anarchists that rioted at the Capitol Building? Are there specific threats? More importantly, who are these domestic enemies?
There are two levels to this that we need to explore, one is the bureaucracy and the other is the political class. However, both levels lead down the same road. So, I’m going to get into all this and provide you the information you need to know.
This is an episode that crosses ideological boundaries. It doesn’t matter where you fall on the political spectrum, Liberal, Democrat, Republican, Conservative, or Libertarian. It’s a threat that can metastasize, and we all need to pay attention because it’s about power and nothing more.
Before I break this all down, go to The P.A.S. Report website. Sign up for The P.A.S. Report Newsletter and subscribe to the podcast so you never miss an episode. Also, don’t forget to check out Monday’s episode where I speak to Conservative thinker Deroy Murdock.
Domestic Enemies
Getting to today’s topic. As I said, there is a lot of talk about domestic enemies, the potential threat they pose, and what to do about it. I’m going to start off by focusing on the Department of Homeland Security’s alert that raised my eyebrows last week.
The reason it raised my eyebrows is that the Department of Homeland Security doesn’t just raise threat levels willy-nilly. The last time they raised the threat level was over a year ago after we killed Qassem Soleimani, and this is the first time, at least that I can recall, where they raised the threat level due to a domestic terrorist group looking to conduct attacks right in our backyards.
So, what did the bulletin actually say? I want you to pay attention. I’m going to directly quote the bulletin. Listen closely to the words being used.
“Information suggests that some ideologically-motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence.”
It goes on to say that “domestic violent extremists motivated by a range of issues, including anger over COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 election results, and police use of force have plotted and on occasion carried out attacks against government facilities,” and “long-standing racial and ethnic tension — including opposition to immigration — has driven [domestic terrorist] attacks,” (DHS)
When I read that, something immediately jumped out at me. It sounds like it was written by a political person as opposed to an intelligence analyst.
Just look at the issues they site.
Defining a Domestic Enemy
One question that comes to mind, what is a domestic enemy? If we are going to throw around this term, and it’s been thrown around very loosely which I’ll get into in a bit, shouldn’t we define what a domestic enemy is?
It’s even more important to define what a domestic enemy is especially since a domestic enemy does not appear in our laws. You can’t find it in the federal penal code. That’s where the danger lies. It can be used by anyone for anything. It can be used to bludgeon political opponents and their supporters. Brand them with a scarlet letter without these so-called domestic enemies engaging in terrorist activities against the United States.
And for those American citizens trying to wage war against the United States, we have a term for that. It’s called treason. We also have laws in regard to those who want to take down the government outside the means laid out in the United States Constitution.
Under the Insurrection Act of 1807, Title 10 U.S. Code 252, those who commit “unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against the authority of the United States, make it impracticable to enforce the laws of the United States in any States by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings.” (Title 10 U.S. Code 252)
So, we are now seeing a new term emerge, and that always raises suspicions. Language is extremely important, and whenever we begin to introduce new words, understand, there are motives behind it.
Lack of Details
Another thing that raises the alarm bells is the lack of details. Given my emergency Management/Homeland Security background, I understand terrorist organization. I understand how they form and what radicalizes people.
And I think back to before I was trained in Homeland Security/Emergency Management. When it comes to al-Qaeda, even before 9/11, we were aware of the threat. We knew who the people were. We knew their command and control, as well as their operational capabilities. We knew how they operated here within the states. Now that information all came out in the 1990s, well before the 9/11 attacks.
Since 9/11, we learned far more. We know the dozens of terrorist organizations that operate throughout the world. We know their names. We know their hierarchy, and we know their capabilities.
Now think, the Department of Homeland Security comes out with this bulletin, but it’s extremely vague, and our pathetic media fails to ask any questions. They have abdicated their responsibility, and simply parrot whatever they are told. I remember when we had a real media that actually tried to get information. That was always suspicious of the information they were being provided. That showed curiosity in order to advance a story.
A question that immediately jumps out at me is who are these groups? If these groups represent such a grave threat, where they have the capabilities to kill Americans and attack American structures and critical infrastructure, shouldn’t it be incumbent on the powers that be to expose these groups?
Now, I’m assuming they are talking about white supremacist organizations, and I’ll get into those in a few.
But don’t you find it the least bit curious that no one has really named these organizations? And who are the leaders of these organizations?
You know, when the government went after the mafia here in New York, they named the crime families. They released organization charts of those who were in the mob. They laid out who the boss was, the consiglieri, the underboss, the capo’s, and the soldiers.
Why aren’t we doing the same for groups that are domestic enemies, and plan on conducting domestic terror attacks?
Another question is what are their command and control structures, as well as their operational capabilities? What should we be looking for?
It’s essential the American people have the information. By providing this information, it will educate the American public on what to look for and the type of suspicious activity that should be reported to authorities.
Concerned with the Lack of Details
I am growing extraordinarily concerned with the lack of details, and I know that I’m not alone. I do have contacts within the industry and many of them are in the dark as well.
They don’t know the details either. Some are saying it’s just the bureaucracy going into cover your ass mode because of the riots at the Capitol on January 6th. This way, if something happens, they could say they were out front and warned the public.
Others say they believe that over the last several years, the intelligence community has been weaponized for political purposes, and this is just the latest example of a runaway bureaucracy injecting political ideology into their work.
However, there are people that pushed back at anyone raising questions. They say the domestic groups are obvious, and that they’re talking about White Supremacist organizations. Others say the details aren’t important and the public doesn’t need to know.
Maybe, if we had a functioning press, we would get answers, but they have shown they would rather be partisan hacks than to do their jobs. And on a side note, part of the problem in the media is the revolving door of pundits and reporters who work for an administration, and then go back to the newsrooms, and vice versa. If you want to know why the press has become so ideological, it’s that right there.
White Supremacy
And I want to take a look at this threat from white supremacist organizations. Obviously, we have to pay attention to any hate group, and I don’t minimize the threat any group poses. All it takes is one nut to cause extreme damage and kill innocent people.
At the same time, the white supremacy thing is being used to target their political opponents. Calling everyone a racist wasn’t enough. In fact, it simply desensitized people to the word. When you scream racism with everything, it loses its effect, and the serious cases where racism needs to be exposed are largely ignored.
Over the course of the last 30-years, if you listen to the media, the pundits, the political and the ruling class, big tech, the giant corporations, the educators, you would think that white supremacist organizations are more powerful than ever before.
This is a lie. A myth. The reality is that most people abhor white supremacy. The majority of Americans are good and decent people. Are there some morons in the country consumed by hate and are racist? Of course. Is racism worse today than ever before in our history? Of course not.
And that’s the thing. More people need to stand up and say that. I want you to think about this logically for a second. We are being told that there is a huge swath of the population that engages in racism, hate, and white supremacy. We are being told that racism has been institutionalized at all levels of society, both the public sector and the private sector.
Now if that’s true. If racism was so acceptable, and we are a nation of racists or white supremacists, then why don’t more people express racism sentiment in public, on social media, or anywhere else? Sure, there’s some, but not many.
It’s actually pretty simple, and it’s because we wouldn’t tolerate it. If someone expresses racist sentiment, they will be marginalized in society. They will lose friends. They will lose their jobs and their livelihoods. They will be thrown out of school. They will be shunned.
We don’t accept racism. I always tell my students, if someone walks onto campus in a Klan outfit, how long would it take for that person to either be knocked out or thrown off-campus? I would give it maybe five minutes, as it should be.
And I am not diminishing anyone’s personal experience when it comes to racism and discrimination. It does exist, and some of you may have encountered it in your own life. It’s wrong and ignorant. It needs to be highlighted and called out.
But is our society filled with a bunch of white supremacists? You would think journalists can actually do their job. Go into minority communities and ask the ordinary folks how many white supremacists they’ve encountered in their lives.
It’s why real racists and white supremacists are forced to go to the fringes of the internet. But to say that this represents a large segment of society is a lie, plain and simple. And the white supremacists’ organizations have nowhere near the power they used to.
In fact, at the height of the Klan’s power in the 1920s, they had a membership of over 4 million people, many serving in high-level positions within our government. (University of Washington) Today, using Southern Poverty Law Center numbers, which is a horrible organization. Understand that the SPLC labeled Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Maajid Nawaz as Anti-Muslim Extremists at one point because they have the audacity to criticize Islamic fundamentalism. They’ve since removed them from the list due to threats of libel suits, but it shows their intent.
And if you speak out against illegal immigration, they call that racism and bigoted. So, you can’t criticize illegal immigration or Islamic extremism, and if you do, they will target you. It shows how loose they are with their labels, but I’m going to use their own numbers.
The SPLC estimates that there are between 5,000-8,000 Klan members and about 2,500 people in Neo-Nazis. Sure, there are other groups, and they are much smaller than these two organizations. (BBC) We are a country of 329-million people. I will always call out the Klan and Neo-Nazis. They’re scum, but we also have to put it into perspective and recognize we are not a hateful country. And like I said, just because their numbers are small, it doesn’t mean we don’t pay attention because all it takes is one time to cause destruction.
Republicans and Conservatives Get Tagged with White Supremacist Labels
However, in recent years, the left, and their allies, have tried to link Republicans and Conservatives with White Supremacy. This is far from the truth and not steeped in any sense of reality. We constantly hear these groups are far-right. Another lie.
Many in academia, the left, and the media say the party’s switched in the late 1960s/early 1970s. That racist democrat abandoned the party due to the Democrat’s push for civil rights. Once again, another myth. If the South was filled with so many racists, and all those people switched to the Republican Party, Democrats dominated control of the South in both the House and the Senate? In fact, it wasn’t until the 103rd, in 1993, where we begin to see a meaningful shift to the Republicans in the south. I’m actually writing a paper on the whole Dixiecrat myth, and plan to do an episode on it as well.
When we look at it, white supremacy is the antithesis of Conservative and Republican values. White Supremacist organizations want to use governmental power to suppress individuals and their God-given liberties due to their race or ethnicity. Interestingly enough, the largest and more powerful Neo-Nazi group is the National Socialist Movement. Isn’t that interesting. (SPLC) Now I don’t know about you, but I don’t hear too many Republicans or Conservatives espousing socialist, Marxist, and Nazi views.
Conservatives reject the idea of an all-powerful government that allows an aristocracy or autocratic rule. We believe in the principles laid out in the Declaration of Independence. That human beings are created equal, and they deserve to be treated with equal dignity and respect. We believe that we are endowed with the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That those rights are given to us, not because of government, but because of our Creator. It is God that gives us these rights, and governments should be instituted to protect these basic fundamental rights regardless of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, or anything else the ruling class wants to divide us on.
Conservatives are suspicious of government power because we understand governments tend to abuse their power. Conservatives believe that government is naturally flawed because it is created by human beings. We believe the concept of liberty is best protected in small states. We believe that the government that governs the best, governs the least. These are the 3 Principles of Old Republicanism.
See conservatism promotes the idea of personal responsibility. The idea that we cannot rely on government for anything and everything. The main reason is because when government does everything for us, we become beholden to government and will continue to grant government even more power. And while you still may be able to participate, and vote do you really have freedom and liberty? Are you going to question the powers that be? When you have little control over your life, you no longer live in a Republic with Democratic principles. That is what we define tyranny as.
Politicians Pushing to Grant the Bureaucracy More Power
However, while the bureaucratic part concerns me, I am much more concerned with the political aspect because there are many who are knowingly perpetuating lies. You also have a number of politicians calling for the enhancement of our domestic surveillance capabilities and granting the bureaucracy ever more power.
There are many in Congress and the bureaucracy talking about granting the bureaucracy sweeping tools to combat domestic terrorism and target the “domestic enemies.”
In fact, they want to import the tools we use to combat foreign terrorist organizations and use those same tools against American citizens. I have a big problem with this.
Many of the tools we use on foreign terrorists are extraordinarily invasive, and I don’t have a problem with that. However, I do have a problem with using these tools against American citizens because they would be largely unconstitutional.
It’s even more important given the vagueness and lack of specifics in their terminology and the words they’re using.
I’m going to be blunt and straight to the point, these politicians, and many within the bureaucracy, want to create a surveillance state. That’s what it’s really about. I warned about the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act last week, and there’s other pending legislation as well.
Listen, I understand how easily these powers can be abused. I also understand how many would use these powers to target their political opposition. Given what we have witnessed from the bureaucracy over the last 15 years, the government should not be empowered any further. In fact, we should be looking at restoring the government to its proper role and limiting the scope of its powers.
Just think over the last ten years. Journalists were illegally spied on under the Obama administration. Sitting members, duly elected members, of the United States Senate were spied on by John Brennan’s CIA. The FBI fabricated information, lied to courts, manipulated evidence, lied under oath, all to target a political figure they didn’t like.
And you really want me to trust the government with more power? No thank you. I’ve seen enough abuses and given how divided we are, factored with the increasing weaponization of the bureaucracy, I don’t see any advantages to granting government more power.
Republicans are Accused of Being Domestic Enemies
We now have many in the political class, along with their allies in the media, accusing their counterparts in the Republican Party of being domestic enemies and white supremacist sympathizers. That’s what it’s really about and comes out of the Saul Alinsky playbook.
Just take a listen to Speaker Pelosi. Remember, she’s the 2nd most powerful person in the United States behind the President. Listen to what she’s saying about her political opponents in Congress.
Play Speaker Pelosi Enemy Within Sound Clip
That should frighten everyone out there. Here is the 2nd most powerful person in America talking about how the domestic enemies are in Congress, and they’re the Republicans. And Speaker Pelosi isn’t the only one.
We can marginalize and dismiss Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez all we want. We can mock her, and question her capabilities, but the truth is that she has an enormous following, and she commands attention when she speaks. Factor that in with her ambition and that’s a dangerous combination. Take a listen to what she says.
Play Congresswomen AOC White Supremacy Clip
She knows damn well what she is saying, and there are some who want to play semantics. There are some defending her saying she wasn’t calling Republicans in Congress white supremacists. She was calling them white supremacist sympathizers.
But here’s the thing. She is saying that at their core, Republicans are white supremacist sympathizers. She didn’t point to any specific examples, nor did she name any Republicans specifically just that Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy defends these so-called white-supremacist sympathizers.
Saying someone is sympathetic to white supremacy and saying they are a white supremacist is virtually the same thing. If you are sympathetic to white supremacy, you are a racist. It’s that plain and simple. And let’s be honest about these labels. They are meant to destroy political opponents. It goes to the heart of someone’s character and integrity. Congresswoman AOC is saying the Republican Party at its core supports racism and white supremacy.
By throwing out terms like racist and white supremacy, the debate is over. Racism and white supremacy are EVIL. How can you possibly engage in debate with evil? If the Republican Party is, at its core, white supremacist sympathizers like AOC says, you cannot debate or negotiate with them because you can’t debate and negotiate with evil. You can’t comprise with evil and incorporate some evil principles into policy. And that’s what she wants.
Then you have someone like former CIA Director John Brennan. This guy has some nerve. He should be in prison, and I don’t say that lightly. Consider that under his watch at the CIA, duly elected members of the United States Senate were being illegally surveilled. Of course, no one was ever held accountable. And now the same idiots in Congress want to empower the intel community more.
But take a listen to what John Brennan says.
Play John Brennan Sound Clip
Did you hear that? At the end, he labels libertarians as a dangerous group of people. He’s labeling libertarians as domestic enemies.
Now libertarians have legitimate philosophical points of view, but now they are being labeled as domestic enemies. Why? Because they criticize the government? Because they believe in a weak government? Because they call out government abuses.
Closing
Do you notice how the domestic enemies’ label is increasing in its scope? This is the danger of the road we are heading down. At what point where does this end? I routinely criticize the government, government abuses, and abuses of power by those in office. Will I be labeled a domestic enemy?
This is why everyone, regardless of political ideology, needs to speak up and speak out against these labels. And trust me, if you’re a Democrat or a liberal, what’s to stop these people from accusing you as a domestic enemy the second you criticize the powers that be.
Be suspicious of power. Be suspicious of rhetoric, especially the rhetoric that is designed to marginalize and demonize people as evil, enemies, or terrorists. If you’ve listened to these podcasts since I began, never once have I used these terms to describe those I disagree with politically. And the reason I don’t do that is because I know where it ends, and it isn’t pretty.

When you ascribe the worst motives to your political opponents, both sides will ultimately retreat to their factions. As Madison wrote in Federalist 10, “A zeal for different opinions concerning religion, concerning government, and many other points, as well of speculation as of practice; an attachment to different leaders ambitiously contending for pre-eminence and power; or to persons of other descriptions whose fortunes have been interesting to the human passions, have, in turn, divided mankind into parties, inflamed them with mutual animosity, and rendered them much more disposed to vex and oppress each other than to co-operate for their common good.”
Understand that we hear all this talk about threats of domestic terrorism which haven’t been clearly defined at all. It can encapsulate anything and everything. Before we grant the government any new powers, we should demand answers to all the questions I raised in this episode.
When we begin to view each other with hatred. When we begin to view each other as evil. It’s game over. And those who are perpetuating this nonsense are doing it for one reason: power. They want to control every aspect of life and society which directly conflicts with our Founder’s vision laid out through the tenets of the American Creed laid out within the Declaration of Independence.
Enough is enough, and I’m going to call out those who keep pushing this irresponsible and dangerous rhetoric.
Let’s speak out loudly, with one voice. As always, please share this episode with others. Share it with anyone who has an open mind and post it on all your social media platforms.
